There will be free gifts and balloons for kids and maybe even some familiar Sproutlings faces!
- As always, please provide documentation whenever your child receives a vaccination. New Universal Health Records are due at your child’s annual physical each year. If you need a copy, please email Kerry at sproutlings.info@gmail.com
Peapods
Our week turned out to be quite surprising for us. Some of our Peapods had their very first fire drill! We were able to go outside in our cribs together! It was quite a ride. We all did a remarkable job. We love to play with our toys now that some of us are able to reach and grab them. We are growing and moving so fast. Some of us are even able to take toys from our friends.
We are starting to learn some signs. We are practicing the sign for eat and more. It will be wonderful to learn how to communicate before we are able to talk. Ms. Lu read our book of the week The Night Before St. Patrick’s Day by Natasha Wing and Ms. Marisol helped us sing the song for this week 5 Green Shamrocks.
Peapod II
This week in Peapod 2 we’ve had a fun week celebrating St. Patrick’s Day! We played with lucky charms (and ate some too!). We’ve painted and colored in green! We read Highlight Hello and Itsy Bitsy Leprechaun. Most of us are transitioning to sitting at the table for meals instead of in the high chair. We played with oatmeal and the ball run. We’re having so much fun learning and playing!
Seedlings
What a fantastic week the Seedlings had! We were able to go to the playground and we can’t get enough of it! We love to be running around and climbing on things in our playground. When we aren’t able to go outside, we’re so lucky to have the indoor playground.
We had a fun time doing our fire drill and did an amazing job! We love doing our large art projects together and have so much fun seeing what everyone else is creating. We still get a kick out of our dot art stickers and want to use them any chance we can get!
The Seedlings had fun working on their fine motor skills exploring with puzzles and our pegs! We’re so excited to play with our pegs and puzzles! During circle time, we read Panda Bear Panda Bear, What Do You See? By Eric Carle and sang “I’m Bringing Home a Baby Bumblebee.”
Little Sprouts
What a bright and sunny week we’ve had in Little Sprouts! Lots of fresh air and sunshine enjoyed by all! ️ We really enjoyed using the tunnels and tents in our classroom to create forts. We used our gross motor skills when dancing to our favorite songs and we practiced our fine motor skills when we hunted for gold coins in our sensory bin!
Beanstalks
Beanstalks was beyond fun this week! We all got to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day this week with some yummy green cupcakes that everyone had loved! For our St. Patrick’s Day craft, everyone used giant marshmallows and dipped them in green paint to make beautiful clovers! More importantly, we started to discuss Spring and what everyone loves most about it. Some friends mentioned how they liked flowers, rainbows, and the nice weather. During circle time, we have been listening to a new song by Jack Hartmann called “The Rainbow Song.” This is the class’ favorite song of the week because we are able to have fun while reviewing the colors of the rainbow while dancing at the same time! We also did some more fun projects such as making handprint flowers and a rainbow made out of popsicle sticks. During our reading time, we read the class favorite book which is Caps for Sale by Esphyr Slobodkina.
We can’t wait to see what super fun projects and learning happens next week in class and we hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.
Saplings
It has been another interesting week here in Saplings! We are talking about buildings near and far. We discussed buildings that are close to Sproutlings like the library, post office, and the kids’ favorite, McDonald’s (or as some of our friends like to call it: Old McDonald). We discussed which we liked best from around the world. We studied pictures of the Louvre, in France; the Forbidden City in China; and St. Basil in Russia. Some of our friends recognized the White House from our own USA! We talked about what materials we use to make buildings and the differences and similarities of our homes.
Legos were used a lot this week. We used them to create a building and trace our creation to make a picture of our building. We put Legos together in patterns. Pool noodle pieces were stacked to make our names and we made rock slime.
We are sorry to say we didn’t catch the Leprechaun but he left us a bunch of clues to follow. At the end of the clues was some of his treasure for us to share.
The books we read this week were Buildings, Buildings, Buildings by Judith Bauer Stamper; A Chair For My Mother by Vera B. Williams; House Sweat House by Judith Bauer Stamper and How To Catch A Leprechaun by Adam Wallace.
Pre K 4
It was an exciting week in Prek 4 while we celebrated St. Patrick’s Day! The children practiced their math skills while graphing Lucky Charms and identifying numbers on a clover. Then the class used golden coins to practice addition.
The letters of the week were “H” and “K.” We practiced them using Handwriting Without Tears and creating the letters with fruit loops. Then the children practiced the letter sounds while creating a word web as a class.
The children enjoyed discussing everything they have that makes them feel lucky. They so enjoyed discussing all the ways that they knew spring was coming. Some of the books we read this week were There was an Old Lady that Swallowed a Clover, The Luckiest St. Patrick’s Day Ever and Pete The Cat The Great Leprechaun Chase.
