Happy New Year to all our Sproutlings Families.

Peapods

Peapods

Now that the holidays are over our Peapods have been busy moving. We have two very good “creepers “ and three pulling themselves up! There is no stopping them now.
We are sad to say goodbye to one of our Peapods, who has now joined Peapods 2 and will be missed. There is good news for our room though, we now have two new Peapods! We are so happy to have them join us.
We would like to wish our families a Happy New Year. Hoping this coming year will be a healthy and healthy one for all.

Peapods II

Peapods II would like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year! We hope everyone enjoyed the holidays. We are so excited for this new year and all that is to come. We are looking forward to making new friends, learning new sign language signs, working on self-help skills, and overall looking forward to watching everyone grow and explore new things daily. We said are good-byes to some of our friends, who are off to their next adventure in the Seedlings room! We also said goodbye to another friend who is off to start her new adventure at a new school. We want to wish them the best of luck and we are so proud of each of them! We can’t wait to see what is in store for all of new and current friends for this next year!

Seedlings

We hope everyone had a happy and healthy new year!  We’re excited to have some new faces in our room. They’ve already adjusted nicely in their new environment.  We celebrated one of our Seedlings’ 2nd birthday and got to enjoy the delicious treats she brought in to share with us.

The Seedlings had a great time making snowflakes with forks and they look great on our door! We try to go outside weather permitting. So please make sure that all accessories are labeled with your child’s name.

During circle time, we sang “Frosty the Snowman” and read   The Little Snowflakes by Steve Metzger.

Little Sprouts

We hope everyone had a happy and healthy New Year! We are excited to welcome five new friends to Little Sprouts! We are looking forward to learning about snowflakes and snowmen. During circle time we enjoyed singing our good morning song, days of the week song and the ABC song.

Beanstalks

Happy New Year! We’re so excited to have four new friends joining our classroom!  We are looking forward to learning about winter, we started off with a week all about snow. We can’t wait to see all the fun things we’ll learn and do in 2024!

Beanstalks II

Happy New Year from Beanstalks II we hope you had an amazing holiday. This week we welcomed  new friends and we are so excited for the things we will be learning together! To start off the new year we are learning about snowflakes. We focused on our numbers and names by doing a snowflake count and by finding the letters in our name to make a snowflake scene. We have read some amazing books which included Millions Of Snowflakes by Mary McKenna Siddals.

PreK 3

Happy New Year from Pre K 3!

The last two weeks we have been talking about the author Jan Brett and Hibernation.

We read many of Jan Brett’s books. The MittenThe Hat, and Cozy to name just a few of them. We created our own Mitten and it is hanging up on our class bulletin board.  We built a snowman with cotton balls. We are looking forward to seeing some real snow. We made magic with a hat. We colored with candles to make a design (we couldn’t see) and then we painted over it with water colors. It was cool to watch the design appear as we were painting the hat.

This week, we discussed hibernation!  We painted and glued a bear inside a cave. We played hide and seek with a bat. PreK 3 took turns guessing what number the bat was hiding behind. We sorted animals into two groups. Ones that hibernate and ones that don’t hibernate. We also matched letters on bat wings. We read Animals in Winter by Henrietta Bancroft and Richard G. Van Gelder and Bear Snores On by Karma Wilson.

PreK 4

Happy New Year from Pre K 4, we hope everyone enjoyed the holidays! As we start the new year the children will be starting the second portion of their HWT workbooks, lowercase letters. Additionally, we will be moving toward changing their morning sign-in sheets to lowercase letters with the first letter being uppercase.

This week the children were introduced to syllables. We learned this by clapping or counting how many times our chin dips when saying a word, recognizing these are breaks in a word. The children had a lot of fun with this! We will continue with math concepts previously learned, with a focus on the numbers 11-20. The children can look forward to winter themed activities this month as well as a focus on Arctic Animals.

We look forward to seeing you at conferences!
