Sproutlings will be closing early on Thursday, June 25th at 4pm and will be closed Friday, June 26th for Staff Development Day.

Sproutlings will be closing early on Thursday, July 2nd at 4pm and will be closed Friday, July 3rd for July 4th weekend.

Please make sure you have your keycard to enter the building. For security purposes the keycard registers who is entering the building. If you have mislaid your card, please let us know so that we can deactivate it and issue you a new one. There will be a $15 charge for new keycards. If you do not have your keycard at pick up or drop off, please expect a wait. Please do not hold the door open for anyone that you do not know.

As we approach our final few weeks together in the Peapods room, we are focusing on celebrating all of our amazing growth! Some of our friends have been taking turns visiting their new classroom to get comfortable, and they are doing great! We are incredibly proud of our friends! It has been so much fun, but also a bit bittersweet as we look back on all the memories we’ve made and milestones we’ve hit! Lately, our little ones love communicating with words and expressing themselves. We have also been enjoying dancing and singing along to our favorite songs, listening to stories, and having a blast playing outside. Finally, we had a wonderful time creating special Father’s Day crafts this week—we can’t wait for them to share their creations with you!

June is moving along and we’ve been having so much fun! We were recently introduced to our playscape outside and we’ve been enjoying climbing on it and going down the slide! We have been dancing and moving a lot, one of our new favorite songs is “Over the Deep Sea” from Super Simple Songs. As we approach our transition date, we’ve been taking turns going into the Seedlings classroom and becoming familiar with our new room and teachers. So far, everyone has done amazing and we are so proud of everyone! We’re looking forward to our last couple of days together and making memories. We hope all of our Peapod 2 dads have a wonderful Father’s Day!

The Seedlings have been so busy lately! We’ve been working hard on a special project that we’re very proud of. We’ve been learning about nutrition and building construction. We have special fruit toys that can be broken in half to reveal a shape inside, and we’ve enjoyed identifying the different types of fruits. It was also a lot of fun washing them in the sensory bin with soap and sponges. We had a great time making geometric shapes and discovered that we could create them using our Duplo blocks. We also put our construction vehicles in the sensory bin to get them nice and clean. During circle time, we read Digger Man by Andrea Zimmerman and David Clemesha and sang “Apples and Bananas.”

Over the past two weeks, Little Sprouts have been exploring the exciting themes of Transportation and Building & Construction! We always start our mornings with a fun and engaging Circle Time where we sing songs and talk about the weather! We had so much fun creating transportation and construction-themed art projects. The children enjoyed block stamping, making tissue paper stop signs, and creating handprint traffic lights, painting trucks, drawing wooden cars, and designing colorful tissue paper hot air balloons. Reading Time was a big hit! Our favorite books were Pugs and a Bug by Carolyn Crimi and Jack’s House by Karen Magnuson Beil. We hope everyone has a great weekend!

During the first week, we dove into an exciting transportation theme! The children learned about the many ways people travel by land, air, and water. We explored different types of vehicles including airplanes, trains, and boats . To bring our theme to life, we sang fun transportation songs and engaged in imaginative play. The children pretended to be trains chugging along the tracks. Their favorite song was “Row, Row, Row Your Boat,” and they happily sang it throughout the week while pretending to paddle across the water with their friends. Storytime was another highlight of our transportation week. The class favorite: Let’s Go for a Drive! by Mo Willems. They enjoyed the story so much that they requested it every single day! We incorporated plenty of hands-on learning through fun math, literacy, and sensory activities. The children practiced counting and number recognition by selecting a number card and loading their trucks with the matching number of colorful pom-poms. Then to reinforce letter recognition and fine motor, we used tweezers to search for and pick up the letter C. They loved digging through those beads! One of the most popular centers of the week was our transportation sensory bin, filled with soft cotton balls and toy airplanes that sparked lots of imaginative play. The highlight of the week, however, had to be our ramp exploration activity! The children had the opportunity to zoom toy cars down a ramp and investigate how different objects moved.

The following week, our classroom focused on an important milestone for growing toddlers—potty training! As the children prepare to transition to their new classrooms, we wanted to dedicate time to helping them build confidence in this important skill. Throughout the week, we talked about why we use the potty and why it is important for our growing bodies. We discussed the different steps involved, from recognizing when we need to go, to sitting on the potty, flushing, and washing our hands. We also learned what to do if we have an accident. The children enjoyed learning about the potty process and were very proud to talk about how big they are becoming. The children especially loved Ruby’s Potty by Paul Rogers, as they eagerly listened to Ruby’s potty-learning adventure. The favorite song of the week was “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Pee,” which had everyone giggling and singing along. One of the most rewarding parts of the week was seeing so many children show increased enthusiasm and confidence about using the potty. We celebrated their efforts, encouraged independence, and recognized the progress each child made, no matter how big or small. Potty learning is an important step in a child’s development, and we are proud of how hard everyone worked. We hope this special week helped build confidence and excitement as the children continue growing and prepare for the next stage of their Sproutlings journey. Additionally, the children enjoyed a live flute performance during music and practiced throwing, bouncing, and catching in our Stretch and Grow class.

What a fantastic two weeks we’ve had here in Beanstalks II. Last week we talked about construction. We were very excited to use play doh, popsicle sticks, and pipe cleaners to construct our own towers and buildings. We really enjoyed reading How A House Is Built by Gail Gibbons. This week we are talking about transportation. We loved getting to practice spelling our names by gluing windows onto our school busses. Our favorite book this week was Last Stop on Market Street by Matt de la Peña. We hope you all have a wonderful weekend and we’ll see you next week!

Another great week here in Saplings! We started the week by digging into all things construction and learning about the many different workers who help build and repair our world. We then wrapped up our fun by exploring the exciting world of transportation! We began our construction exploration by learning about painters and the important work they do. The children used large paintbrushes to paint popsicle sticks, helping to strengthen their fine motor skills while creating colorful masterpieces. Next, we learned about electricians and the hard work they do by using our fingers to untangle pipe cleaners. We also explored the role of plumbers by pasting water droplets onto paper pipes and discussing how plumbers help bring water to our homes. After having so much fun learning about construction and its workers, it was time to learn all about transportation! We started by learning about trains and creating our own trains using the letters in our names. Then we explored airplanes by tracing our names on fluffy cloud shapes. We also learned about sailboats by peeling and placing stickers onto our boats, which was a great way to practice our fine motor skills. The children thought that was really cool! We enjoyed reading several wonderful books throughout the week, including Goodnight, Goodnight, Construction Site, I’m Taking a Trip on My Train, and Amelia’s Fantastic Flight. We can’t wait to finish our year in Saplings and discover even more exciting things together next week!

Pre K 3 has been having fun finishing learning about construction. The children got to smash some paint with a hammer to make a beautiful picture. They measured skyscrapers with blocks and counted the blocks to see which building was bigger. The children practice “driving” a car on letters. They made shapes out of popsicle sticks and built masterpieces with cups and index cards.  This week, the children moved to discussing transportation. The classes painted with trains. The children dipped the trains into the paint and rolled them across the paper. They made train track patterns with popsicle sticks. We also worked on letter matching and created a stop light by cutting red, yellow, and green paper and glued it. We sorted transportation vehicles into groups of air, land and water. It has been a busy and fun couple of weeks.

Congratulations to all our PreK 4 graduates! We had so much fun learning our songs and dances to show you at graduation. We loved seeing our family during the ceremony and celebrating with you. Thank you so much for coming! This week we are discussing space. We have learned what astronauts do, about different planets, and all about the sun. Throughout the week we have practiced rhyming words, matching uppercase and lowercase letters, and identifying numbers to 20.
