Peapods

Peapods

The Peapods have had a a couple of great weeks. We now officially have another walker! Our other Peapods are crawling everywhere and we have a new “creeping “ baby. Everyone is on the move!
We continue to practice with our small motor skills with our caps and our Push Pop sensory toys. We are also discovering our family photos. It’s so exciting to be able to see a picture of our family throughout our day. Some of us are also learning to share our toys (until we want them back).
We had a lot of fun with Ms. Laura during our music time singing 5 Little Hearts ❤️ and Ms. Lu read The Day It Rained by Felicia Bond and The 12 Days of Lunar New Year by Jenna Lettice. Ms. Kayah also read a nice book titled If You Were a Penguin by Wendell and Florence Minor.

Peapods II

Happy Valentine’s Day from Peapods 2! We had a great time celebrating this week. Thank you to our Peapods 2 families for bringing in tasty treats for our party. We can’t believe how quickly time is passing. We have loved reading books lately. We do an excellent job signing “more” and “please” when we want to keep reading. We are so proud of everyone in our class; everyday we are learning and accomplishing new things! We can’t wait to see what the rest of the month has in store for us!

Seedlings

The Seedlings had fun these last two weeks! We also had a Valentine’s Day party and the kids loved it so much. We want to say thank you to all the parents who organized it.

We learned about Lunar New Year and it’s the year of the dragon. It was so much fun coloring dragons to celebrate.  The Seedlings had a thrilling time playing with the musical instruments and trying to sing.  We did many renditions of our favorites.

We painted some hearts and then painted with forks to make amazing effects on the paper. It was great seeing what red and white make!

During circle time, we read Under My Hood I have a Hat by Karla Kuskin and sang “Valentine’s Day Hokey Pokey”.

Little Sprouts

Little Sprouts was very excited to learn about Lunar New Year and Valentine’s Day! We enjoyed talking about the year of the Dragon! We loved using paint to make handprint ladybugs and hearts. During circle time, we sang our good morning song, Days of the week, our ABC’s and numbers. We enjoyed being able to go outside and run around and our Wednesday morning visit from Ms. Lisa! We loved our delicious treats at our Valentine’s Day party!

We enjoyed reading Lunar New Year by Hannah Eliot and Happy Valentine’s Day Mouse by Laura Numeroff.

Beanstalks

What a great two weeks we’ve had here in Beanstalks! Last week, we learned all about Lunar New Year! We talked about the different ways that different countries celebrate and made dragons and lanterns to bring us good luck!

This week we talked about Valentine’s Day! We talked about how to show friends we care about them and worked together to color in a bunch of hearts. Wishing you all an awesome long weekend and we’ll see you all on Monday!

Beanstalks II

We missed you! Let’s talk about what we have been learning recently! Last week, we learned all about Lunar New Year.  Some books we read included “Max Celebrates Chinese New Year,” “Playing With Lanterns,” and “The Night Before Lunar New Year”. We decorated our own lanterns and focused a lot on our numbers last week. This week we talked all about Valentine’s Day! We read some silly books including “A Crankenstein Valentine”, “Happy Valentine’s Day Mouse,” and “Love From Me To You”. We did some number matching and shape matching and a few cute handprint crafts. We had so much fun during our Valentine’s Day party and being able to pass out what we brought. See you soon!

PreK 3

Hello and Happy Valentine’s day! PreK 3 had a wonderful time these past few weeks learning about and celebrating Lunar New Year and Valentine’s Day!

We continued to practice our fine motor skills and created Chinese lanterns (cutting and gluing), we put together dragon puppets (coloring and gluing), and we “stitched” our own red envelopes to carry some gold coins (lacing).  We discovered that red means good luck and dragons bring health and fortune for Lunar New Year.  Some of our favorite books we read were “How to Catch a Dragon” by Adam Wallace and Andy Elkerton and “Ruby’s Chinese New Year” by Vickie Lee.

As we flowed into our Valentine’s Day celebration, we once again concentrated on our fine motor skills as we created sponge paint art and decorated Valentine’s Day mailboxes.  Some of the books we read this week included – “The Day it Rained Hearts” by Felicia Bond and “If You’ll be My Valentine?” by Cynthia Rylant.  As always, Stretch and Grow and music with Miss Lisa were highlights of the week!

PreK 4

This week in PreK 4, the children celebrated Valentine’s Day by painting watercolor hearts. They counted hearts using 10 frames and practiced rhyming words. This week’s journal entries had the children thinking about ways to show love and the people they love. The children enjoyed stories such as It Rained Hearts by Felicia Bond.

Next week, the children can look forward to learning about health and nutrition.
