Peapods
Peapods
The Peapods have been busy, busy, busy! We are walking, almost walking, standing, and moving. No one is staying still. Some of us had fun crawling through the brightly colored tunnel. Some of us are taking our time. We will get there! We have been trying to stack our stars on top of each other. It’s a little difficult because we have to fit them together. We can do it-soon!
Ms. Laura and Ms. Kiera sang fun songs. We had fun with Touch Your Nose. Ms. Lu read And Then Comes Summer by Tom Brenner and Five Little Monkeys by Eileen Christelo.
Peapods II
Peapods II have had lots of fun during the last 2 weeks. We have enjoyed spending time outside when the weather has allowed us to and time in the indoor playground when it has been stormy. We have enjoyed singing and dancing together and playing with water and boats in the sensory table. Wishing everyone a happy 4th of July weekend!!
Seedlings
We’re sad that this is our last week together as Seedlings but we’ve made so many memories. The Seedlings had a fantastic time tie dying class shirts as a group project. It was fun looking at the different colors we used. We loved how they look and love to point out the different colors.
We enjoyed coloring on our huge piece of brown paper and trying to identify shapes that the teachers were drawing for us. We know most of our shapes and had a great time coloring them in. We also colored some zoo animals and tried to make their sounds. The Seedlings have a lot of fun listening to animals sounds and mimicking them.
During circle time, we read Bears On Wheels by Stan and Jan Berenstain and sang “Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes”.
Little Sprouts
Little Sprouts had so much fun learning about the circus and summer! We used dot markers to color a picture of circus animal. During centers we had fun playing with the keys and sorting them by color or size, we also enjoyed playing with the foam shapes and doing puzzles.
We enjoyed dancing around to Tooty Ta and singing Mr. Golden Sun! We loved reading Clifford at the Circus by Norman Bridwell and The Berenstain Bears Seashore Treasure by Stan and Jan Berenstain. Our favorite part of the week was tie-dying our shirts to wear at school!
Beanstalks
We have had lots of fun during our last 2 weeks as Beanstalks! We have all been so excited to make the most of our outside time and are becoming quite the skilled bug hunters. We even found our very first beetle. How cool is that?
We enjoyed talking about all the different buildings in our community, and even made towns with the letters in our names! We’ve been having fun doing a lot of drawing lately and even drew our favorite memory from Beanstalks! Wishing you all a safe and happy long weekend, and we can’t wait to see what you all will accomplish in Pre-K 3.
Beanstalks II
What have we been up to in the last 2 weeks?? Last week we ended our construction learning and we focused on patterns and numbers. We also read many construction books which we loved!
This week was our all about me and farewell week! We focused all about ourselves- we made self portraits, we got interviewed about ourselves and we made a 4th of July project. Wishing the Beanstalks II friends well as they move on to PreK 3.
Pre K 3
Last week, we talked about Picnics. We sorted fruits and veggies. Great snacks to bring to a picnic. We matched food to the correct shaped plates and we made a watermelon craft. Most of the class also started swim. They had a great time!
This week, we learned about carnival, circus and street fairs. We had fun playing carnival games like dinosaur toss, knock down the tower, duck race and fishing for a prize. Today all the children will be bringing home a goody bag of prizes they won at our carnival.
We are saying Good Bye to our class today! They are off to new horizons in Pre K 4. Good Luck!
Pre K 4
In our last two weeks of Pre-K 4, the children learned about the beach and ice cream. We learned about the process that milk goes through to become ice cream and we were able to taste test ice cream too!
We also talked about animals we might see at the beach and fun things to do when you go to the beach. Our favorite books were Should I Share My Ice Cream? by Mo Willems and Turkey’s Sandtastic Beach Day by Wendi J Silvano.
The past two weeks have been used mainly as a review of major concepts we have learned throughout the year. This includes letter and number recognition, identifying letter sounds, practicing handwriting, creating and extending patterns, and more.
With our writing prompts, we wondered what we would sell if we worked on an ice cream truck and what we can do in the summer. We are so creative with our responses!
We had a great year and will miss the children so much! We wish them all the best in kindergarten. Enjoy the summer!
