Peapods

Peapods

The Peapods are so happy to welcome a new student to our group! We also said goodbye to another as he has moved to the Peapod 2 room. We will miss him and his adorable smiles. There is also a new walker among us. There is no stopping our walkers now! Some of us are having so much fun pushing the cars around the room. We love to move the cars through the open shelf and under the cribs.

Ms. Lu waved her magic bubble wand and we had so much fun trying to catch them. As we usually do we had a lot of music. Music always puts us in a happy mood! Ms. Lu read Beach Day by Karen Roosa and Ms. Laura sang “Five Little Ducks.”
We wish all our families a safe and happy Fourth of July 🇺🇸.

Peapods II

We had a blast in Peapods II this week. We started off this week creating our own stylish headbands by using colorful dot markers. We had fun learning our ABCs and with the help of our teachers, some of us were even able to spell out our names using letter building blocks.

During circle time, we read Clifford Takes a Trip by Norman Bridwell and learned what noises animals make by reading Moo, Baa, La La La by Sandra Boynton. Our favorite song this week was “Itsy Bitsy Spider” & some of us are experts at using our fine motor skills to bring life to the song.

For a lot of our friends, this is our last week in Peapods II! We are grateful for everything we have learned. We went from crawling to walking and some of us can even run! Now we are excited to transition into the Seedlings classroom and continue to explore the world around us and learn new things.

Last but not least, we are sad to be saying our goodbyes to Miss Mel as she begins her maternity leave. However, we hope that she has a happy & healthy baby. We cannot wait to meet them!

Seedlings

We had such a great time this week with everyone.  We enjoyed our last week together as a whole class with ending it by wearing our tie dye shirts.  The Seedlings couldn’t get enough of the S’mores that we made today.

We made fireworks with paint by using a fork as a paintbrush.  We were a little bit confused but had a lot of fun once we got the hang of it. We worked on our fine motor skills by using the connecting blocks. We enjoyed making necklaces and seeing how long we could make them.

During circle time, we read There’s a Wocket in my Pocket by Dr. Seuss and we sang “The Wheels on the Bus.”

Little Sprouts

This week we welcomed our new assistant teacher Ms.Akeena to Little Sprouts! We are so excited for her to be here. Our theme this week was sunflowers! We learned that sunflowers are very tall and their color is bright yellow! We had lots of fun creating our own special sunflower.

We also used our fine motor skills to piece together Mr. Potato Head, and to complete some puzzles! We love to do special activities.

As this week comes to an end, next week your child will officially be in Beanstalks! We were able to do a little class visit to their new room this week, they loved it! Wishing them nothing but the best in their new class. They will be missed! Have a safe holiday weekend!

Beanstalks

This week we enjoyed our last few days as Beanstalks. We discussed all our favorite things we did in Beanstalks, crafts, songs, activity’s and books. We sang some of our favorite songs.

We read lots of books such as The Night Before Summer Vacation by Natasha Wing and discussed going on vacation. We took a special trip to our new classroom met our new teachers. We will miss Beanstalks but we are so excited to move up to Pre-K 3! We wish all of our Beanstalk families a very happy and safe summer and we will miss you all!

Beanstalks II

This week in Beanstalks II we were getting ready to make the move into Pre K 3. We talked about the 4th of July.

We started our week by visiting our new classroom and meeting Miss Amelia!

The children also made a sun with their name on it. They used their fine motor skills to stick stars onto paper and then counted them.

Saplings

We enjoyed our last days in the Pre-K 3 Saplings room. We learned all about Independence Day and the fun things that people do to celebrate the holiday. We talked about fireworks and many of us will be seeing them this weekend!

We also learned about the colors of the flag and the different shapes you can find on the flag. We exercised with Stretch and Grow and started our first week of swim lessons and we had tons of fun.

During art, we created firework art using forks and made flags which helped us work on creating an AB pattern. We have really enjoyed our time in the Saplings classroom but we are excited to be the big kids of the school. Pre-K 4, here we come!

Pre K 3

We had a great last week in PreK-3! We all have grown so must this passed year and are excited to move up to PreK-4 and learn so much more! This week some of our friends went to swim class for the first time! We have a lot of awesome swimmers! We had fun playing on the playground with our friends! Again we had a blast at Stretch and Grow with coaches! We took a trip to meet our new teachers and see our new classroom!

We also celebrated the Fourth of July this week! We made patterns with red, white and blue stars. Practiced our pencil grip by tracing letters and numbers. We worked on our fine motor skills in sensory bin by taking colored beads and putting them through pipe cleaners.

The stories we read this week were Red, White and Boom by Lee Wardlaw, Apple Pie 4th Of July by Janet S. Wong and The Night Before the Fourth of July by Natasha Wing. Thank you for a great year! Hope you all have a great Holiday weekend!

Pre K 4

The children spent their last week in Pre K 4 playing with friends and getting excited for camp! They created a piece of art using construction paper circles and glue, the artist Wassily Kandinsky and his piece Several Circles was our inspiration. The children also did review work, matching letters and completing addition problems.

Thank you so much for a wonderful school year! Wishing you all the very best!
