Peapods

Peapods

As the summer winds down the Peapods are just getting started! We have been enjoying the weather and going out for walks. We also have been enjoying our shakers that Ms Kiera helped us make. Our fine motor skills are getting sharper as we can get some of the jar caps into our big jar. We also have some exciting news, we have a new walker! Watch out everyone. We enjoyed Ms. Lu reading Chester’s Way by Kevin Henkes. Ms. Laura sang one of our many favorite songs “If You’re Happy And You Know It”.

Peapods II

And just like that our summer months have come and gone. Peapods 2 had a great summer together filled with lots of outside time, water play, reaching milestones, and learning and growing every day. This week we say good-bye for now to two friends who will be moving up to the Seedlings classroom. We will miss them but we can’t wait to continue watching them grow and learn new things. We wish them and their families the best of luck! As we watch two friends move to the next room, we’d like to welcome four new friends! We are so excited to have them and their families join Peapods 2, we can’t wait to see what this next chapter will bring!

Seedlings

As the summer comes to an end, we are getting ready for Fall and looking forward to some new classmates joining us.

We have celebrated so many birthdays this month! We all enjoyed eating so many birthday treats!!

We had lots of fun gluing letters and numbers onto paper. We also painted and used our dot art markers to color some dinosaurs.  We roared a lot this week!!

During circle time, we read How Do Dinosaurs Say Happy Birthday by Jane  Yolen and Mark Teague. Then we sang and danced to “We are the Dinosaurs “.

Little Sprouts

Little Sprouts had so much fun learning this week! We enjoyed having our feet painted to make flip-flops. We had fun using dot art markers to outline the first letter of our names. During centers we had fun using play-dough to make different shapes, building train tracks and seeing how many trains we could fit on the track, we loved playing with our puzzle and practicing our colors, shapes, and animals.  We also had fun playing with bubbles and dancing around with scarfs! Our favorite songs are “Little Bunnies” and “Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes”. We loved reading All by Myself by Mercer Mayer.

Beanstalks

The past two weeks have really been out of this world! We’ve been flying high during our week on birds and loved  counting eggs in a nest and even got to build our own nests for our birds! Our week on space really took off, we’ve all been so enthusiastic about all the planets, both the ones in the sky and the ones we made with our dot markers. We got to count and squish clay stars and talked about whether we’d enjoy being astronauts or not. We had our last day of water play, and although we’re sad to see it go, we’re  so excited to see what the next two weeks will bring. Have a safe and happy weekend and we’ll see you on Tuesday.

Beanstalks II

The last two weeks have been out of this world. No, actually out of this world because we have been learning all about space. We have been talking about the planets, gravity and astronauts. We’ve been focusing on our numbers and learning the letters in our names. Art was fun as  we were made our very own moon! Have a great Labor Day Weekend!

PreK 3

Pre K 3 has been excited to learn about Space! The children practiced counting as we built rockets to launch into space! We began our journey in the stars. We made our own constellations. The children matched up aliens and spaceships with shapes on them. We saw planets with the letter of our names on them and painted the Moon, Mars and Earth.

The children made another rocket. This rocket, was created from the letters of our name.  We tried to catch asteroids ☄️ and toss them into our spaceship to take home.

Some of our favorite books were: Pete The Cat Out Of This World by Eric Litwin, How To Catch A Star by Oliver Jeffers, Roaring Rockets by Tony Mitten and Star In A Jar by Sam Hay and Sarah Massini.

See you on Tuesday for more adventures!

PreK 4

During the past two weeks in Pre-K 4, the children learned about the zoo and the circus. We learned about the job of a zookeeper and about all of the acts at the circus! We also talked about zoo animals and learned about animals that used to work at the circus. Our favorite books were Olivia Saves the Circus by Ian Falconer and The View at the Zoo by Kathleen Long Bostrom.

We are still reviewing concepts we learned in Pre-K 3 but beginning next week, we will start our Pre-K 4 curriculum! We look forward to learning so many new things like writing uppercase and lowercase letters, letter sounds, and more.

With our writing prompts, we wondered what animals we would have in our zoo and what a clown does at the circus. We are so creative with our responses!

We enjoyed all of our fun summer activities like swimming class and water play and we are excited to start gymnastics soon! As always, we had so much fun during Stretch and Grow as well! Have a great Labor Day weekend!
